Loved reading this, especially on a Sunday.

I'm a fan of the Sunday reset personally, but in recent (tired) weeks I prefer doing little tasks through the week so that I can just enjoy a big Sunday lie-down.

Yesss. Absolutely! There’s a time and a place for both. Thanks for reading 🫶🏻

I COMPLETELY agree with this. And love that you sprinkle it in so that you can enjoy your Sunday more rather than put so much pressure on it. I think that's a great approach! It's all about finding out which works best for your lifestyle imo.

Honestly I couldn't agree more. With hustle culture and everything else I feel like we're always made to feel guilty for resting. And when most people rest, it's not actually resting. It's ticking it off a to-do list so we can say we've rested.

I TOTALLY agree! Like since when was resting just something on a to do list? That is not truly resting as you aren't doing it because you know that what you want you are doing it because that's what you think you can do. The way I tell the difference is how I feel afterward. If I am more stressed after I "rested" then that's not a true rest.

It’s crazy isn’t it! I think that’s a good way to differentiate it though, it’s all about how you feel. ✌🏻🖤

It has really helped me when assessing what I do and whether or not it’s a bad habit I need to kick or a good habit I need to build on

This piece was bold and SOOOOO relatable. The wellness culture today stresses how important it is to make the most out of everyday for your own well being but in reality that approach is similar to the hustle culture, especially if you are doing all these things because that's what the "gurus" are telling you rather than doing it for yourself. Listening to what we need in the moment and not guilting ourselves for giving us that, especially when we feel SO MUCH BETTER afterward, that's true wellness in my eyes!

Yesss!! Like wellness itself is becoming its own grind. Thanks sooo much for reading, and for your lovely comments!! 💕🫶🏻

Reading this on a Sunday while eating cookies. Could have done much more today but I chose not to.

Was there guilt involved? Yes. But I choose to see the fact that I feel guilt when my day is not completely packed with the reset activities as a bigger priority than the things than need resetting. :)

So yeah, Netflix, cookies + an early night it is for this Sunday.

I forwarded this to my sister! I started feeling so resentful of Sundays because it felt like an extra day of work! Meal deals and trying my best in the week from now on 😂

I LOVED this - especially as I’m reading it from bed, feeling slightly guilty that I didn’t have a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing Sunday reset. Some Sundays I do that and I love it, but this was a lovely reminder that it’s ok to love the other Sundays too 🤍

I love that this piece is claiming back the right to just be on a Sunday and not do.

I am lucky to be away for a long weekend, and for the first part of my Sunday, I couldn’t stop thinking how I should be doing things, like exercise, or explore or read. I did none of that. Just went to put extra spf50 on and lied on my sun bed. Nothing else. It was the most liberating to allow myself to just be on that bed without the extra three million options or tasks one has on an actual holiday.

Here’s to taking back our time to practice the art of doing nothing. 🤍

thank you so much for writing this. sadly it isn't sunday when i'm reading this but i totally agree with you, sometimes all you wanna do is rot in bed in front of either a show you've already watched or a bad movie and that's totally fine and should be normalize. we all take breaks differently and also the patriarchy made us into week machines when the fact is that we're ruled by the moon and our cycle so somedays we feel like doing nothing and others that are hyperproductive, it all depends. thank you so much once again, much love <3

Yessss!!! LOVE this! Also the fact I wheel out at literally every opportunity is the typical working week was designed for people who had someone at home managing the house-work/cooking/cleaning full time! Thanks so much for reading 💕

Oh my gosh, I feel this so hard! Sundays in October are all about cozy vibes and fresh bedding, but some days, you just need to embrace the lazy! Who needs to do it all when you can chill with pizza, Friends reruns, and a cozy duvet? Honestly, we deserve those restful moments just as much as the productive ones! 🛋️✨

"Except I haven’t done any of that.

Because I’m tired."

Girl, same. For now, I am simply happy to watch other people Sunday resetting on TikTok while I carcass around on my sofa eating leftover roasties from the roast I cooked three days ago. Adult life is all about that balance; make the most of your WELL DESERVED lazy time and I hope you feel energised and assed again soon ❤️

First of all, love the verb “to carcass around” and will be using liberally. Second, thanks so much!! The energy is slowly creeping it’s way back, I can feel it 💕💕

I wonder if seasonal changes (SAD) also have to do with your energy levels. I spent all summer rotting in bed on the weekends and have just started to get out of this phase. It honestly gets exhausting being productive on your days off because before you know it, the entire weekend is gone.
